Train Whistle Instructions
Your train whistle comes equipped with a 1/2in compression fitting to connect to your air system. You will require a 1/2in air valve to operate.
When you install your train whistle you may use either compression fittings or push to pull fittings to plumb the whistle to your air tank. No matter which you use, make sure to cut your air line at right angles to insure proper seating and prevent leaks.
With compression fittings, loosen the compression nut and slide your air line inside the fitting until it reaches the bottom. Then using two wrenches, one on the seat and one on the compression nut, tighten the compression nut over down. There is a ferrule inside of these fittings that will tighten and compress on your air line.
With push to pull fittings, simply push your air line inside of the compression ring unti it reaches the seat of the fitting. These fittings are like Chinese finger traps and will grab and lock onto the air line by themselves. To release you must push down the compression ring while you pull the air line out of the fitting.
To install your train whistle follow the following simple instructions:
- Firstly, find a suitable place to mount the train whistle. It is recommended to leave at least 4 inches of free space in front of the whistle to allow proper air flow.
- Next measure the air line you intend to use and insure you have enough to mount your whistle in the desired location.
- Now you’re ready to install. Mount the whistle with the supplied mounting hardware and use 1/2in OD air line to connect your whistle to your air valve. Make sure that the whistle connects to the outlet of your air valve.
- Finally, connect your air valve’s inlet to your air tank. If your air valve has an arrow marked on it, it should point towards your train whistle.
